NGO DEI (我地), meaning "Our Land" and also "Us" in Cantonese, is an arts and culture organization founded in 2021 in Prague by a small group of 10 international students. Our guiding principle is that "Where Hongkongers are, there is Hong Kong." In 2024, we made a significant move by relocating to the International Justice Hub in The Hague, where we established our community center and gallery. This new space serves as a platform for cultural expression and advocacy, dedicated to promoting justice and human rights globally, with a focus on Hong Kong's freedom.

NGO DEI is proud to reaffirm our commitment to promoting art and global solidarity. Over the past years, we’ve continued to present exhibitions and programs that reflect on urgent social and political issues—including a landmark showcase exploring recent movements in Hong Kong—drawing on archival materials and personal collections that sparked important conversations.
Since the open the doors of our newly renovated gallery in June 2025, we are excited to welcome a broader community into a revitalized space designed for deeper engagement, collaboration, and creative expression. This reopening marks not just a physical transformation, but a renewed dedication to fostering connection through art. With fresh energy and strengthened foundations, we look ahead to the future—ready to support bold ideas, amplify underrepresented voices, and build solidarity across borders.
NGO DEI chose to be in The Hague, a city renowned for its commitment to justice and peace, as it significantly enhances our capacity to connect with global organizations dedicated to similar ideals. By establishing our community center and gallery in this vibrant hub, we not only amplify our advocacy for a free Hong Kong but also engage with like-minded entities focused on promoting human rights and social justice.

The Hague's strategic location was highlighted by our first symposium, "ImagiNation: Hong Kong in Exile," held in collaboration with Art and Culture Hong Kong at Nieuwspoort, the news center of the Dutch Parliament, May 2024. The event was a tremendous success, bringing together approximately 150 artists, scholars, and activists from over 10 countries, including the UK, Canada, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Australia, the US, Switzerland, Denmark, and Estonia. This gathering not only strengthened our global network but also reinforced our commitment to uplifting marginalized voices and fostering a collective impact in the fight for justice and freedom.
